Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Pick-up from Airport to hotel

You will be picked up from the airport by our professional guide, who will transfer you to the hotel for check-in and rest. Our guide will then provide a briefing to prepare you for the upcoming tour.

Overnight stay: Victoria Royal Beach Hotel, Protea Hotel, or any other lodge of our choice (1 night).

After an early morning breakfast, drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park. En route, stop at the Equator, where you will stand in both hemispheres at the same time! Enjoy the water rotation experience and take photos. As you continue your journey, appreciate the breathtaking views of the grasslands on the interlocking hills of western Uganda, the herds of long-horned Nkore cows, banana plantations, and, of course, the smiling faces of the locals waving and greeting you with “Muzungu, how are you?” (Muzungu means “white person”).

Upon arrival in the early afternoon, enjoy lunch at your lodge and then embark on a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Here, you’ll encounter aquatic life such as crocodiles, hippos, water birds, and various animals.

Meal Plan: Lunch en route or at the lodge and dinner at the lodge of our choice, such as Luxury Camp or another preferred lodge (1 night).

Start the day with a beautiful sunrise over the eastern horizon. After breakfast, enjoy a game drive or an optional nature walk to see animals such as common zebras, impalas, oribis, topis, elands, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species like scimitar bills, wattled lapwings, red-backed scrub robins, southern ground hornbills, and Uganda’s national bird, the grey-crowned crane. Lake Mburo National Park is renowned for being a haven for bird watchers.

After the game drive, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the late evening. Relax and receive a briefing from our guide about the next day’s activities.

Overnight stay: Lodge in Bwindi (1 night).

After an early breakfast, get ready for the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking. As you trek through the Impenetrable Forest, you’ll encounter towering trees that form beautiful canopies, listen to the melodic sounds of birds, and, if you’re lucky, spot a waterfall where forest elephants occasionally come to drink. It’s an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Overnight stay: Lodge in Bwindi (2 nights).

After breakfast, embark on the long drive back to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening and can transfer directly to the airport or to the hotel of your choice, depending on your flight. Alternatively, you may choose to take a domestic flight to Entebbe if you prefer a shorter journey back.
